Extra! Extra!

Mama's got really big news! We're talking little itty baby news! A few weeks after my big return to work at the beginning of July, Stephen and I were thrilled to discover that we are expecting our second child!

Turns out we got pregnant right around our Jubilee Bubilee's first birthday, a few days before I went back to work. Talk about an exit strategy! I've been keeping the secret from you all this time because some of my colleagues read this blog and I wasn't ready to tell them yet. But everyone knows now...I can't hide that belly anymore! Already!

I'm 13 weeks in and am starting to feel that wonderful, miraculous 2nd trimester energy boost. Well, I'm wishfully thinking anyway ;0) I've been sooooo tired this time around. I've been going straight to bed as soon as I come home from work in the evenings and frankly haven't seen August go by. Actually, I'm shocked that it's already September. Aren't you?

I haven't been blogging because I've mostly been sleeping! And truth be told I haven't knit a single stitch since my last post way back in July. Knitting is one of the very few things this time around that give me nausea. I haven't even flipped through recent knit zine subscriptions because for some inexplicable reason, doing so makes me dizzy. I hope to be back at it really soon though. Like I said, anyday now, I should be full of energy and back to my old past-times.

Oh, how I hope!

  1. Congratulations! How weird about the knitting nausea, though. Maybe this little one has an aversion to knitwear:)

  2. Eeeee! That's so wonderful! You guys are such great parents, and your kids turn out so well, that you should have about 50 :) (kidding! But you DO make great parents!)

How funny that you should be nauseous at knitting! I tell my husband that if I get pregnant, I'll probably be nauseous at the thought of crafting and crave nothing but meat (I've been vegetarian for nearly 6 years).

  5. Congratulations!

It's hard to be in the first timester with a toddler around. I hope you bounce into the second trimester quickly and that the knitting nausea ends soon.

  11. Hi friend!! I'm so glad you're back! Now I feel like I miss Stephen! Ha, ha. What a nice job he did filling in for you!

    Take care. Be well.

I heard this somewhere..."never stand when you can sit and never sit when you can lie down". I think that certainly applies to you!

  25. Congratulations!!! How exciting! I am pregnant with my second and the exhaustion has lasted SO much longer this time; I think it must be all the running around after a toddler.

  26. Wow that plan came to fruition earlier than expected, but a big congratulations and how lucky you are to be having another little one. I think that the tiredness would be from work and already having an extra little one to look after. Take care and sleep as much as you can. When I was pregnant with my son 12 yrs ago I used to be awake for 4 or so hours for the 2 day weekend, and the rest of the time I just slept. That was for the first term, and then I started to get more energy. I hope your energy comes back because I want to see that jacket you are making finished.

  29. Knitting nausea? How awful ... but how wonderful about the news of a new little one. The nausea will pass & you will be knitting up new things for the little one soon ... you just HAVE too. I can't imagine this little one not getting a stitch. Nah, won't happen ... you'll be knitting up a storm in no time. Again ... Congrats!!!
