It does seem like I've been knitting these 12 balls of stash Peruvian alpaca forever...but really it took a whopping 2 years to knit them up. I actually bought it when I first discovered elann in October 2004 and it took me this long to figure out what to knit with it! Here's how I did it (clockwise):
- Seamless top-down henley for my lemondrop knit this weekend (my own design), 2 balls celery
- Roll-neck baby sweater knit for Jujube when he was just a wee one, 2 balls oxford gray
- EZ's very warm hat (reversible!) knit last week, 1 ball teal + 1 ball oxford gray
- Branching out ascot (I only got through the first 19 repeats with what I had left - knit yesterday afternoon), 1 ball oxford gray
- Schmootzy (aka, Kate) knit when my husband's kitty died this spring, odds and ends of all 3 colours
- Target wave mittens for Jujube, odds and ends celery and teal
- Snowdrift mittens Snow drift mittens knit last week, 2 balls teal + 1 ball celery
- and one ball sent off to a fellow knitter in need of it to finish a sweater for her husband!
And now it's finally all gone! In fact, I used up a whopping 7 balls of it since declaring my stashbusting goal two weeks ago today. Not bad, eh?
That means 8 balls down, 92 balls to go for my current stashbusting goal!
Now I really need to knit something in another colour...!
Wow. That's a lot of knitting over a two week period. And I thought I was fairly fast! How do you find that much time with a wee one to look after?
ReplyDeleteLove schmootzy. I found a similar pattern online awhile back that I can't wait to try! I really need more nieces and nephews.
I love that song! Likely will be singing your rendition for a few days.
ReplyDeleteThat is indeed a whole lot of yarn but good work on getting it out of the stash.
They all look beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYou are on a roll with the knitting! Must feel good to use it all up finally! Awesome job on all the knits!
ReplyDeleteI'm stashbusting too... and all I want to do right now is stash stash stash some of this fab yarn. Everything you've made with it has just turned out lovely. I imagine this yarn is so soft, too! :)
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I'm 30 weeks along!
Looks like you got your money's worth!
ReplyDeleteI salute you -- great stashbusting stamina! And delightful knitted objects to show for it, too.
ReplyDeleteVery Nice
ReplyDeleteThat is a lot of knittin in only 2 weeks!!
ReplyDeleteWow, that's ALOT of destash! Good job! Love the henley. It's darling!
ReplyDeleteWowee, you got a lot done with 7 balls of yarn. It looks like really soft yarn too. And your knitting is beautiful! Aaaahhh, the knitting I could do if I was at home ... I envy you!! Even with the baby belly (I'm 58 now & don't want anymore babies, but I remember how content I was when prego) ... but exhausted later on, LOL.
ReplyDeleteWow! This is amazing. Did you knit two hats and sew them together or did you do double knitting for the reversable hat? tamdoll@comcast.net
ReplyDeleteThanks. Now I have that song going through my head just like it always did!
ReplyDeleteDon't know how you knit as much as you do!
love,

Kind of incredible, isn't it, how many different things you can knit from the same yarn? Love the variety. It's like when magazines show you how to make 15 outfits from 3 pieces, only better, because you don't have to do all that laundry in between.
ReplyDeleteThat sweater looks a lot like the one I'm working on from Last Minute Knitted Gifts, so you've got a good eye for designing!! I really like the colors you are using! Not as much of the baby blues, but very manly colors!
ReplyDeleteGreat now I can't stop singing that song it will take hours with my iPod to get that out of my head. And as always the knitting is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI love the blue & yellow combo ... but you're right, LOL time to move on to another color. Something bright? In primary colors for the new wee one?
ReplyDeleteYou have been a knitting fiend! Thanks for all of the inspiration. :)
