Julian's new best friend

In our experience, it is true that babies love the packaging toys come in as much as the toy inside. Sometimes more. Now that our little guy is on the move, he's discovering lots of new "toys" like my slippers, the DVD player, computer wires, the digital camera, his socks...thankfully he hasn't shown any interest in yarn. Yet ;0)

Well we had Stephen's family over for some chowder and quesidillas on Sunday afternoon and while we were cooking, something caught Jujube's eye: the silicone whisk! Those two have been inseperable since. He even sleeps with his new buddy. I really have to be careful not to refer to his friend as 'Whisky' though which is quite difficult because since he was born, everything started ending with "y"as in binky, horsey, nappy... Those are all cute of course, but there's something not right about being at the park or mall and asking your baby if he wants his whisk-y!

Here's the week in review...

Yup, more gratuitous cuteness shots! I'm hoping to distract you from the lack of knitting content. Is it working? Truth is, as I am sure you know, sleeves are incredibly long and boring to knit and blog about. Especially the second! And that's where I'm at on Bristow. I keep telling myself to hang in there, stop thinking about how dull it is to knit and how far there seems to knit still, but I'm at the point where every row is a greater chore than the one before it (which it is by the way since the pattren calls for increases every 6 rows).

Visualise the finish line, Anny, visualise a beautiful red Bristow...

And knit, bay-bee, knit!

  7. Your little guy has the prettiest complexion and rosy cheeks. I'm sure he'll love that description when he's a strapping young lad, but for now...awwwww! How did you assemble the pictures and the text? You must have done that first with a some photo software before uploading it to blogger? Your pics always look so nice. Soldier on with the Bristow...I finished sock #1 tonight (what a nightmare!) and I need a small breather before sock #2. Maybe I'll make it my trademark to never make matching socks...there's a million-dollar idea in there somewhere! Have fun with the whisk-y!

  8. Whisk-y? Will he be a bartender or a chef - he is such a cutie and I have to say the pictures are great! Kids are a blast; all I hear about these days are "sprouts" (hair growing in the armpits, on the chest and in the nether region - which Nick loves to show me :0) - just wait until he is a tweenie! Push through on the Bristow; you're almost there!

  9. I think part of the reason that I finally brought a pet into my life is so that I can talk a bit of baby talk again - without sounding like a raving lunatic!! Whisky (at least it's not Whiskey) sounds perfectly normal to me.
